I'm a twenty-something that spent the first half of my life as a Navy-brat moving every two years. When my parents decided to settle down we ended up near family in central Cali. There is literally nothing to do in the area but go to the mall and bum around or watch a movie. At least LA or SF aren't that far of a drive...
I love reading though I haven't read much but fanfiction recently, except for the Twilight saga. I loved reading the Harry Potter series and Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings as well. I've read some of the Sword of Truth and Deryni series and eventually want to finish them. I also have a massive collection of manga from Bleach and Prince of Tennis to Nana and Vampire Knight. And there is lots of yaoi in there too, some of which I've had the pleasure of meeting the mangaka at Yaoi-con (and getting sigs :D).
I love watching stuff be it movies, a tv series or anime. I watch mostly horror, sci-fi, romantic-comedy or fantasy but I'll give anything a try, except those damn torture porn horror movies *shudders*. That is so not my cup of tea. I'm very much obsessed with Supernatural on tv right now, though I watch a variety of things. I watch most of the USA shows (yay, Burn Notice), the 3 CSIs, NCIS, Law & Order:SVU, 90210, Smallville, Chuck, Heroes, Lost and the list goes on...
I love a variety of music with the great exception of county (though my parents are starting to change that slowly *shakes fist*) and rap (I just don't get it I guess). I especially love my Jrock and cherish my ever growing cd collection from Dir en grey to alice nine.
I play mostly rpg games with WoW and Final Fantasy being my top two favorite franchises. I have a bad habit of buying random that-cover-looks-cool games and then never getting around to finishing them. Like all the NIS/Atlus games I have. I used to play Guild Wars but sadly I replaced it with WoW. I also have recently found a love for playing Rock Band 2, esp. drumming. I'm not great at it (heck I sing better) but something about pounding on fake drums just makes me smile.
I've recently finished college (in 07) with a BA in English (which hasn't really improved my grammar skills I think). I really don't know what to do with it, but I'm so not wanting to be a teacher like most people want for me. And I really don't want to go back and get a Masters or PhD (which just means I'd be better qualified to teach >.>) So for now I substitute teach. Some days it's not bad others it downright sucks balls.
I really, really want to travel around the world someday. I've really wanted to go to Japan for a while now since I have a strong desire to sit outside in a hotspring while the snow falls around me. I just love the imagery that puts in my head when I think about it. I also want to visit London since all those Brit Lit classes in college make me want to see some of the history I've read about. Other places I wanna visit are Paris, Scotland, Ireland, Italy, Athens, Egypt, China (esp. Hong Kong), Australia and maybe Thailand and the Philipines. I also want to go back to Guam and see if anything I remember is still there. I also want to take a cruise to Alaska someday. Gah, too many things...I just hope I get to see them before I get too old.
I've recently discovered a desire to go back and study either film or photography. I really want to go back to school at UCLA to study the various aspects of making a movie but we'll see how that goes with the current state of the economy. So, wish me luck in going back to school and not wanting to stab my eye out for putting myself through more torture by the end of my first semester at the jc.
